P2P Italy Art Trip 2023

 Whew- the past few days have been a whirlwind of adventures in Tuscany. We traveled by bus from Florence to Lucca on a day trip and then the next day we left Florence and made our way to Fattoria Lisheto— an incredible working farm. We just finished a cheese tour and amazing 6 course farm to table dinner that many felt “changed them forever.” We feel so fortunate to be here together!  Pictures above were captured by Ms. Bertarelli and Zoe T (top two golden hour captures)

 Buonasera!  We’ve had another epic day- it started with climbing up 454 steps to the top of Il Duomo to take in magnificent views of Firenze. Then most of us also climbed the Bell Tower. At 10 am we departed to do a self guided tour of the Iffizi Galleria- the “Birth of Venus” and “Medusa” and many more masterpieces pulled on our heartstrings! After the Uffizi we went back to the central market and delightfully devoured homemade pastas, fresh fruits and juices. Before heading back to the hotel we met Roberto at his families leather shop!  

 Hello to all! As we sit and draw in the Uffizi Galleria courtyard I wanted to update with our newest adventures. Yesterday we divided into small groups, while some explored Venice more via the Rialto Bridge and boat rides and others took a longer boat ride to wade in the warm waters at Lido Beach!  Now we’re onto art challenges to embrace the feel and artistic feel of Firenze! The birthplace of the Renaissance! We even went to 2 Via Squazza, where I lived while studying abroad at the Accademia Italiana AND we ran into a local painter I remembered from my time here, Carlo! We bought out his booth for today. More to come later today after our first full day in Florence.
